On day 51 the fermenting green tea leaves are transferred to Onggi clay drums made by Jeju artisans from the finest clay found on the Island. The Onggi is a traditionally crafted ceramic created without a sealing finishing glaze, allowing the leaves to continue to breathe the fresh natural air of the AMOREPACIFIC Dolsongi Garden through the jars’ open pores. The drums are kept in a secluded area within the garden hidden by camphor trees where they absorb the soothing aroma of the native trees while the antioxidants are strengthened and stabilized, preserving the optimal level of antioxidant protection for the skin.
A Singular 24-Hour Artisanal Extraction Process
The epic journey concludes with a singular artisanal extraction process. Over 24 hours the essence is extracted drop by drop from the fermented tea leaves to be directly bottled without any additional steps.
